Mantras for the modern mind

  1. There are other things more important than speed. Speed is important only once you work on the right thing. Work on the right thing.

  2. It’s not so over, we’re not so back. It’s never been over. We’ve never had to be back from anything. Everything is ok.

  3. You have time. You don’t need to rush. There’s nothing to escape. There’s no looming “permanent underclass”. You’re fine. You have time.

  4. You can relax. You can enjoy things. You don’t need to squeeze productivity out of every hour.

  5. A purchase often won’t allay your disquiet. But a purchase will often become a burden. To not be governed by your things, and to be a master of them, be mindful of how many things you purchase.

  6. You can take time to read. You can do things by hand. You can study things deeply. You can afford full understanding. You don’t need to move so quickly that you forget to think.

  7. You can still abide by your principles. You don’t need to put out things of low quality. If others do it, you can just not do it. You’re not getting left behind. You’re doing your thing with due care.
